USN Confident Of Raising Sunken Fishing Vessel
The U.S. Navy was confident that it would successfully raise the Japanese fishing vessel sunk off Hawaii in February by one of its nuclear submarines, and was hopeful of recovering some of the bodies of the nine people killed in the accident. Final preparations were being made at press time.
PFEL Accepts Bethlehem Bid Of $20 Million For Ship Conversion
John I. Alioto, president of Pacific Far East Line, the San Francisco, Calif.-based steamship company, has announced the signing of a contract with Bethlehem Shipyards of San Francisco for the conversion of four PFEL LASH vessels to full containerships.
